A few weeks back we had the pleasure of hitting up this magic eatery with two of our favorite ladies and bloggers: Libby of Plate South and Andrea of Charleston Shop Curator. It concludes the second part to this fantastical day where we got to sample some of the tastiest treats Carmella’s had to offer! Let me tell you they did not disappoint from the pecan pie to a waffle ice cream sandwich with chocolate covered bacon (you read that correctly, I said chocolate covered bacon) it was all so delicious and hard not eat everything in site.
We sampled so many sweet treats, each one completely different from the last. We had a bagel sandwich with pistachio ice cream and a brownie sundae concoction that was out of this world! They have it all from espresso drinks, cocktails, desserts, to milkshakes. The cafe sits on the the corner of East Bay and Cumberland and has the perfect cafe feel with it’s open windows and exposed brick walls. It was the perfect setting with our retro outfits from Dandy and we could not have asked for better service! Brian and his team were amazing and brought out just about every delicious thing on the menu!
Lastly, sweets isn’t the only thing they do well, they also have sandwiches, cheese plates, and a full menu of salty counter parts. We definitely started with desserts first, because that’s how everyone should start a meal in my opinion. It ended up being an amazing day and we suggest you run, not walk to this savory cafe. Just be ready for a plethora of choices, because there is no shortage of selection and if you are looking for more of a foodies perspective on all the treats we sampled head on over to Plate South for a full run down! (How the table looked at the end!)
