I am not going to sugar coat it, 2017 was a tough year. Of course there we’re tons of highlights and great moments, but as a small business owner it was one of the hardest years Dandy has seen. Now that doesn’t mean we didn’t experience amazing moments like being a part of Charleston Fashion Week. It was a magical moment seeing models on stage wearing Dandy and creating a fun, retro experience for the audience. We stepped our blogging game up and worked with some amazing local bloggers. We finally created the ” Local Maker’s” section, an area in the store specifically for local makers and artists. We did countless photo shoots, fostered new friendships, and collaborated with some great people. Having so many amazing and supportive people by our side from the beginning and being a part of those special times has meant the world to me.
Personally I turned the big 3-0 and got engaged to the love of my life and we have started planning our wedding 10 years in the making. So yes, there we’re plenty of amazing moments. To be honest, I don’t think looking back and counting every bad moment is a very healthy way to view things. There are ups and downs, highs and lows, and as my friend Angela always says ebb and flows. So going forward I will choose to focus on the positive and learn from the negative. There is so much work to be done in the coming year and there are big changes coming to Dandy. They are scary and a life changing. Instead of letting the rough parts of last year control my outlook on the new year I am going to rise to the challenge, maintain a positive outlook on the future, and make 2018 the best year it can be for Dandy! I look forward to sharing our journey with all of you. You guys have been there for us and with us since the beginning and you make all the hard work worth it! We hope you enjoy looking back at some of our favorite moments this past year and follow along with us on all our new adventures! We are diving head first into the new year with drive, determination, and a wide open heart!
